The reason we are here is to help our community and support those in Fir Vale and beyond who are in need. We provide a range of community groups throughout the week for adults and children.
Monday, 12:00 noon – 2:00pm.
Although called Women’s Fellowship, men are welcome to join in the fellowship. Membership fee is £1.00 per week and lunch is provided for £1.50 per person.
Thursday, 9.30 am – 11.30 am.
Chatterbox is a small group of people that meet up every Thursday morning at church for a cuppa and a chat. We help each other with our problems and cheer each other in our joys. It is a lovely group, and everyone including children is welcome. There is a minimal charge of £1:00 per person, which covers tea/coffee and snacks.
Tuesday, 9:30am – 11:30am (Term Time Only)
FAB Tots toddler group (term time only). FAB Tots offer a range of large play equipment which is swapped round on a four-weekly rota: slide and seesaws, big tent and ball pool, sand pit, small tents and fancy dress. We also offer smaller toys for babies and toddlers and we have a kitchen role play area and a till for playing shops with toy baby dolls and buggies.
We have either a seasonal craft or colouring sheet every week and we have snack and singing time. The whole session is completed by the children going to “The Garage” to collect the big vehicles and they then have around 10 – 15 mins riding around the room, which is our home-time signature.
There is a minimal charge of £1.00 per parent and 2 children.
Additional children are charged at 50p per child.
Tuesday, 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm (Term Time Only)
Our group consists of 25 – 30 girls and boys aged between 4-17 and we have eight leaders. We meet weekly to have fun, make friends, learn new things and learn about God.
Last year we took our younger girls on a weekend camp and our older girls spent May Bank Holiday weekend at the Cliff College Festival.
Sunday 10:00am – 11:15am
Junior Church is a Sunday School including crèche and children’s group (unless there is an All Age Service, which takes place one Sunday every month). We cover a wide range of old and new testament stories, supported by singing, games and craft activities. We have also taken part in several all-age services, doing readings, drama and anything else we are asked.
Although children officially do not come into Junior Church until they are 3 years old, we welcome any of our toddlers to come and see what we are doing and join in as much as they would like to – they just need to bring Mum or Dad to stay with them.
